Can Easy Photo Player See All My Google Photos?

October 31, 2026

No. Easy Photo Player cannot see your whole Google Photos library. When you sign in, Google asks you to allow one Google Photos permission, and the app cannot work without it. That can look like a lot to ask, so this page explains what the permission does, what it does not do, and what happens if you do not allow it.

What Google asks you to allow

When you sign in with Google, Google asks "Select what Easy Photo Player can access". Below that is the line "See selected photos and videos from Google Photos" with an empty box next to it. The box is not ticked for you: tick it, and then press "Continue". If you press "Continue" without ticking it, you are signed in, but the app cannot open the photo picker. The details of the line read "See and copy the photos and videos that you select from Google Photos". The word that matters is select: the permission covers the photos you choose, not your library. Google also shares your basic profile and email address with us, because you sign in with your Google account. We keep your email address and your Google account ID so that you can sign in to the same account again.

Why the app cannot work without it

This permission is what lets the app open Google's photo picker. Without it, Google does not open the picker for us, you cannot choose photos, and the TV has nothing to show. There is no smaller version to choose: this permission is already the limited one. Google removed its older permissions that could read a whole library in 2025, and Easy Photo Player never used them. If you do not tick the box, you can still sign in, but the Photos page asks you to allow the permission before you can choose photos.

What happens after you allow it

Allowing the permission does not open your library to us. You press Add Photos and Google's picker opens. It is Google's page, not ours, and we cannot see what you browse there. You tap the photos and videos you want, or open an album and use Select All, and then press Done. Google then gives the app those items and nothing else. We cannot see any photo before you choose it.

What we do with the photos you choose

We show them on the TV linked to your account. Google says "see and copy" because that is its description of this permission. We do not permanently store your photos. We save only temporary links that Google gives us, and they expire and are renewed automatically. Your originals stay in Google Photos. Google limits each selection to 7 days, and after that you choose the photos again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Easy Photo Player see photos I did not choose?

No. The app gets only the photos and videos you pick in Google's photo picker. We cannot see the rest of your library, and we cannot see any photo before you choose it.

Can I use the app with limited access?

This permission is already the limited access, and the app needs it to open the photo picker. You set the limit yourself by choosing only the photos you want on the TV. You can change the selection whenever you like.

What if I did not tick the Google Photos box?

You can sign in, but you cannot choose photos yet. Go to the Photos page, press the button that allows the permission, and tick the Google Photos box on Google's page. Then choose your photos.
